In accordance with state law, Saint Paul Public School is required to ensure that all school-age children living within the district's boundaries are being educated.

The district’s primary role is to be certain that all Home Schools comply with state law and to provide the necessary information and forms to each for compliance.

Home School families in Saint Paul Public School District ISD 625, should receive a letter in August from the Home School office, that will assist them in submitting the forms that are need for the 2008-09 school year.

To comply with the Minnesota Compulsory Instruction Law, instruction must be provided in at least the following subjects:

1. basic communication skills including reading and writing, literature, and fine arts;
2. mathematics and science;
3. social studies including history, geography, and government; and
4. health and physical education.
